 




| Children's Homes IndiaA DISEASE OF ANCIENT TIMES, STILL PLAGUES US TODAY:LEPROSYSPONSOR A CHILD IMPACTED BY LEPROSYThe Vision: Break the cycle of leprosy and the resulting poverty and social rejection, through loving Home Care, quality Schooling, including Higher Education, in an environment that develops the whole person with strong moral character and advanced skills that allows for full participation in society. A Brief History: In 1945 Dr. John Taylor and his wife, Dr. Elizabeth Taylor, while doing their medical mission work in India, were approached by a group of their leper patients and asked to start a home and school for their children. With the help of a small group of sponsors, the gift of a bungalow and seven acres of land, 12 boys moved into the bungalow. From the start, the vision was for a home environment, caring and nurturing the whole person – body, soul, and spirit. The Children’s Homes have expanded to include three other homes. Education has always been a central emphasis of the homes. The Home Academy was started in 1974 and later a second campus. NEXT PAGE | |
